The vendor relationship every Claude builder has just acquired a new variable.

Anthropic filed a confidential draft S-1 with the SEC on June 1, starting the formal IPO process. The filing follows a $65 billion Series H that closed May 28 at a $965 billion post-money valuation. Share count and pricing are not yet set. Multiple tier-1 outlets confirmed the filing the same day. Why it matters. A public Anthropic introduces quarterly-earnings pressure that could push API prices in either direction. If you build on Claude, directly or via Copilot or Cursor, the vendor relationship you have now becomes a publicly scrutinized one. Long-term contract assumptions just got a new variable.

Copilot SDK hits general availability at Build 2026.
JUNE 3RD · PONDERO NEWSDESK
GitHub shipped the Copilot SDK with a frozen API surface and six language bindings (TypeScript, Python, Go, .NET, plus new Rust and Java). It gives developers production-ready access to Copilot’s agent runtime with GitHub-native auth and MCP built in. If your team was waiting for API stability before building internal tools on Copilot, the wait is over.

Copilot moves every plan to usage-based billing.
JUNE 3RD · PONDERO NEWSDESK
As of June 1, all Copilot plans bill against AI Credits (1 credit = $0.01). Business seats get 1,900 credits/user/month; Enterprise gets 3,900. Credits are pooled at the org level, so power users can draw more while lighter users offset the spend. Existing customers get a promotional bump (3,000/7,000) through September 1. Model choice now drives real cost variance per interaction.

WAF v1.0 shipped under MIT at Build 2026. YAML manifests let agents control Windows desktop apps and services. If you are building agents that automate Windows UI (form-filling, legacy-app workflows), this is the new baseline before rolling your own.
