Salesforce and Nvidia launch Koa CRM reasoning model and AIforce interface layer at Dreamforce 2026

· by Pondero Newsdesk

The short version

Salesforce unveiled Koa, its first CRM reasoning model built with Nvidia on synthetic data from nearly 27 years of CRM deployments, plus AIforce, which routes Salesforce data into Claude, Slack, and Amazon Bedrock.

Salesforce and Nvidia launch Koa CRM reasoning model and AIforce interface layer at Dreamforce 2026

Salesforce shipped two AI announcements on Dreamforce Day 2, September 16, that together reframe how the company expects its platform to be used: Koa, a purpose-built CRM reasoning model, and AIforce, a new interface layer that puts Salesforce data and workflows inside Claude, Slack, and Amazon Bedrock without requiring employees to open Salesforce at all.

What

Koa is Salesforce's first reasoning model aimed specifically at CRM tasks. Built with Nvidia on the Nvidia Nemotron 3 Super architecture, the model was post-trained on a synthetic dataset derived from nearly 27 years of Salesforce CRM deployments across more than 14 industries, including manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, and travel. No actual customer data was used in training, per Salesforce's announcement covered by Pulse2. The post-training ran through Nvidia's NeMo RL, NeMo Gym, and NeMo AutoModel toolchain using supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning.

Per Salesforce, Koa matches or exceeds leading model performance on its internal CRM Benchmark while producing three times fewer errors on tasks such as updating opportunities, routing customer cases, and scheduling follow-ups. Salesforce controls the model weights and runs inference inside its own infrastructure, so customer data does not leave its trust boundary during inference.

Koa is available now to select pilot customers in Agentforce. Named participants include Formula 1, Xero, Baxter Credit Union, 1-800Accountant, Engine, and UChicago Medicine. General availability in US regions is scheduled for winter 2026.

AIforce is the companion announcement. It exposes Salesforce data, business logic, and permissions to AI interfaces outside the traditional Salesforce UI. Salesforce is rolling it out through three initial experiences: Claudeforce, which routes Salesforce into Anthropic's Claude via a prebuilt MCP server and ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills; Slackforce, which brings Salesforce records and actions into Slack conversations; and Agentforce Coworker, which surfaces an AI teammate inside Salesforce's own Lightning interface. Salesforce reported that Agentforce Coworker reached 100,000 users in its first 35 days.

Claudeforce is currently in beta. Deloitte, GitLab, and Legora are named as early participants. A Zero Data Retention policy governs all AIforce requests: business information sent through the interface is not retained by external model providers, per Salesforce.

Why it matters

The "3x fewer errors" figure is a Salesforce internal benchmark claim, not a third-party result. Teams evaluating Koa for production workflows should weight that accordingly and run their own CRM-specific tests before routing multistep processes. The comparison that would actually settle the question, Koa versus leading general models on a neutral CRM benchmark, has not been published.

The AIforce architecture carries a bigger long-run signal. By threading external AI access through existing Salesforce permissions, Salesforce is trying to defuse the governance objection that slows enterprise AI adoption: the concern that an external model will see data an employee was never authorized to access. A Salesforce Development plugin for Claude Code adds more than 40 skills and specialized tooling for development tasks, which extends the reach beyond sales workflows into engineering teams.

For operators already running Claude in enterprise workflows, the Claudeforce MCP server is the earliest concrete item to watch. It can slot into an existing Claude setup without a full Agentforce deployment, provided your organization already has a Salesforce contract.

What to watch next

Koa's general availability in US regions is the first milestone, expected this winter. The more telling signal will be whether Salesforce publishes third-party benchmark results before that date. If independent CRM benchmark data does not accompany the GA announcement, the current "3x fewer errors" claim will remain a vendor self-certification. Separately, Fulton Bank was cited as a pilot customer that moved from zero to more than 20 production use cases in weeks supporting roughly 3,000 users; a full case study, once published, will be the first external operational data point on AIforce at scale.
