Four hardware products centered on the Muse AI agent came out of Meta Connect on September 23, 2026. Three ship within months. The fourth lands spring 2027 at a price point that puts Meta directly against Apple Vision Pro.

What Meta announced

Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) is available starting at $449 as of the announcement date. The new generation brings a 12MP camera with 3K video recording, up to nine hours of battery, a slimmer frame design, and a new customizable action button for one-touch access to Meta AI or live translation. New frame styles include Aviator and Zena. Per 9to5Mac's Connect coverage, this is the first Gen 3 refresh for the platform that launched with Luxottica in 2023.

Ray-Ban Meta Audio is Meta's first camera-free smart glasses, priced at $349 with pre-orders open and shipping October 13. The device fits Clubmaster and Burbank frames, carries a 12-hour battery, and supports music, calls, live translation, and hands-free Muse access. The lack of a camera opens prescription compatibility across a wide range of optical lenses, which the camera-equipped line cannot support. For buyers put off by the surveillance optics of a camera embedded in a wearable, the Audio variant removes that friction entirely.

Muse Charm is a pocket-sized pendant with roughly a 2-inch OLED touchscreen, front- and rear-facing cameras for visual context, 5G, USB-C, speakers, and microphones. It is designed to run Muse voice conversations on the go outside of a phone screen. Pricing was not disclosed; 9to5Mac reported the device is expected to cost roughly as much as a smartwatch. Availability is December 2026. The Charm ships alongside a customizable Muse character interface.

Meta VR Glasses are priced at $1,299.99 and ship spring 2027. The headset weighs approximately 100 grams, which Meta says is five times lighter than the Quest 3. A separate pocketable puck handles the processing, battery, and storage, keeping weight off the face. The display uses 5K micro-OLED panels. The device is the first IMAX Enhanced-certified VR product. Per Meta's Connect announcement, input runs through eye navigation, hand gestures, and voice commands to Meta AI.

Meta now covers four wearable segments at once

The four products cover distinct segments of the AI wearables market rather than competing with each other. Audio glasses address the prescription market that camera glasses cannot. Muse Charm gives Muse a dedicated pocket device for users who do not want to run it through a phone or glasses. The Gen 3 upgrade keeps the core Ray-Ban line competitive against rival camera-glasses hardware that has emerged since 2023. The VR Glasses sit at the high end, targeting buyers who want standalone immersive computing but found the Quest 3's weight or Apple Vision Pro's $3,499 price prohibitive.

The $1,299.99 VR headset price is the sharpest number from the event. Apple Vision Pro entered the market at $3,499 in early 2024. Meta is positioning its VR Glasses at less than 40 percent of that figure while citing a 5K micro-OLED display and an IMAX certification. How the display quality, comfort, and app ecosystem compare will determine whether the price differential converts into sales. Those answers will not come until closer to the spring 2027 ship date.

On the software side, Muse gained retail connectors for Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, Ulta, Expedia, and Instacart, a new private space that isolates Muse conversations from other Meta activity, and live translation expanded to 14 additional languages.

What to watch next

Whether a developer SDK for Muse Charm launches before the December ship date is the key near-term question for operators building on the Muse platform. Third-party apps would significantly expand what the pendant can do beyond first-party Meta experiences. Whether Apple responds with any Vision Pro pricing or software update in the same October-to-spring window will determine how competitive the VR market looks by the time Meta VR Glasses reach retail.
