Anthropic added a new stack of outside-partner discounts worth up to $45,000 to its Claude for Startups program on October 6, 2026. The expansion keeps the program's existing free year of Claude Team and $1,000 API credit, now bundled with that partner stack under one application.

What happened

Anthropic announced the expansion in a post on its resources site during the company's SF Tech Week "Claude Founder House" event. Approved members get a free year of Claude Team, with up to five Premium seats for companies new to the plan, plus a one-time $1,000 API credit available as soon as a company is approved. Anthropic's own math puts that direct package at up to $7,000, based on five Premium seats billed annually at $100 per seat per month plus the credit. Layered on top is the new "Claude Startup Stack," a set of discounts from outside companies that Anthropic says is worth up to $45,000 at partner list prices as of September 2026. Listed partner offers include 2.5 times a startup's monthly credits for a year from Firecrawl, 12 months free plus 33 million characters from ElevenLabs, and $5,000 in Cloud credits from ClickHouse, per the Claude Startups page. Members also get virtual office hours with Anthropic's Applied AI team and a path into the Claude Marketplace, where an approved plugin listing puts a startup's product in front of Claude's own users.

Either path to eligibility clears the bar

A company qualifies by meeting one of two tests: founded within the last five years, or funded within the last two, per Anthropic's announcement. That means a bootstrapped company with no outside funding can qualify on age alone, and a company that closed a seed round last month qualifies regardless of how long it has existed. For a five-person team already paying for Claude seats, the dollar figures are concrete: five Premium Claude Team seats cost $6,000 a year at Anthropic's listed per-seat rate, money the program covers outright, and the Startup Stack turns tools like ClickHouse and ElevenLabs from full-price purchases into discounted or free ones for the length of each partner's offer. Companies apply through the Claude Startups page, and once approved, members redeem Startup Stack offers directly in the Claude Console, per the program page.

What to watch next

There is no stated deadline on the expanded benefits, and Anthropic has not disclosed how many companies have joined since the program's earlier 2026 launch. Any company founded in the last five years or funded in the last two can apply now at the Claude Startups page.
