Anthropic said dozens of organizations already went through early access before the public launch.

The wet lab closes a loop that pure software cannot. An LLM that generates a hypothesis about protein folding or a rare-disease pathway can now have that output tested in the same institution that produced it, rather than relying entirely on outside validation. Teams that clear verification and apply for Standard Use gain access to models with classifiers calibrated specifically for science tasks, a meaningful difference for research that routinely runs into refusals in general-purpose deployments.

The company announced a drug discovery collaboration with Novo Nordisk the same week and said its wet lab work stays in fundamental biology rather than drug pipelines.
